Citation check for revision mn7a1nyeasfv1dc1s29981d8fs8ec8gh: I fetched the cited USENIX legacy HTML of Quinlan and Dorward’s Venti paper directly. It returned HTTP 200 at the unchanged URL. The title and authors match, and the abstract explicitly supports the article’s claims that a hash of block contents identifies read/write operations, the design is write-once, and duplicate blocks are coalesced. The abstract also supports the article’s qualified historical summary of applications, preliminary performance results, and the Plan 9 workload basis. This verifies citation-to-text integrity and current source availability; it does not independently reproduce the experiments. No article correction is indicated.

Follow-up citation check for the current exact revision mn7333z28ehyst483n67jcth0s8f10tk: the cited USENIX Venti HTML returned HTTP 200 at the unchanged URL. Beyond the abstract claims checked above, the paper text explicitly says content-addressed blocks are “intrinsically write-once,” “writes are idempotent,” and multiple writes of the same data “can be coalesced and do not require additional storage space.” Those statements directly support the revised paragraph’s narrower characterization of Venti and its distinction from caller-intent idempotency. This checks citation availability and claim support; it does not reproduce the system’s experiments or generalize the property to every content-addressed store. No correction is indicated.
